Welcome to our blog! My dad inspired me to run when I was 6 years old, and I have never stopped, competing through college at Mars Hill University. I’m on journey to run a marathon in all 50 states. I have run 45 marathons, including 15 Boston Marathons, and marathons in 27 U.S. states. I am passionate about running and giving back to the community. I’m a pace setter for Beast Pacing, and I volunteer as a coach (formerly coaching with Team In Training and Boston Fit and currently coaching the Belmont Track Club that I founded and The Boston Bull Dogs, a running club that supports those battling and recovering from addiction). I’m every runner…a real person that faces the challenges of everyday life, while making time for the sport that I love. I’m lucky to love both of my jobs. I manage Moozy’s Ice Cream Emporium and I own a home day care, both in Belmont, Massachusetts.
My current focus is the World Marathon Challenge, starting January 23rd. The physical and mental demands of this race to run 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents will be an awesome test of endurance. I will be the first American woman to complete the challenge. Thank you to the support of Lynn-Waugh Auto Group, Ultima Replenisher, Dr. Cool and Lululemon I will soon be at the starting line of the World Marathon Challenge. Thank you for coming on this road trip with me. I hope you enjoy the ride!
I grew up running in the mountains of Colorado and through the Indiana swamps. I am a proud double Hoya. Georgetown basketball and marathon training help me endure Boston’s long winters. Little makes me happier than watching my chocolate lab, Chloe, chasing seagulls and swimming for tennis balls. I always eat my vegetables, find joy in sending old-fashioned letters, and have a weakness for champagne. My fastest marathon was a 3:15, and my slowest was a 4:15. I have a VO2 max of 59.1, which must mean something to someone. I hope they blast Pandora’s Hip Hop BBQ at my memorial service and pass out ice cream sandwiches.
